I updated it and my notebook disappeared

I’ve noticed that Android and the web are out of sync lately. But when I updated the Android app, all the notes I’ve written in the app have disappeared. I can’t find them in the trash, and I can’t find them even if I search for their contents. They’re very important notes. Please find the notes I wrote in the app. Please.

Hmm. The Simplenote web app shows the contents of the Simplenote cloud server. The Android app shows local files that should be synced with the server. They should always be in sync; if they are not, something is wrong and needs to be corrected.
Are you able to access the web app from an Android browser? That should confirm that the Android app can access the server. The updated Android app should at least be displaying the notes that were on the server. Are you sure you’re logged in with the correct email?

Oh man, that really sucks. Definitely try checking the web app. After reading this, from now on I am making daily local backups.
