I don’t know if I can trust Simple in my workflow anymore
-
I’ve used notes for years, but now since my workflow have changed I have noticed critical syncing issues. I have Simplenote logged in on Safari on my MacBook, iMac and Mac Mini and in the app on my iPad and iPhone. This allows to jot down note wherever I’m working. However recently I’ve notice more and more that my notes aren’t syncing from one device to another. I’ve lost data that I can’t get back. If this happens again, I’ll have to find a new app to work with my workflow. Anyone else with this issue?

We’d like to investigate these sync issues with you so we can address them for you. I know it messes things up greatly when it doesn’t work as expected.
Can you let us know if it’s one particular device that’s not updating your notes? We’d like to know if there’s a pattern, for example when you write on the Macbook it doesn’t show the text on the iPad. It will also help if you can let us know the following:
- what devices you use Simplenote on
- their operating systems and versions
- the Simplenote versions on each
- the browser and version you use to access https://app.simplenote.com

I’d just like to add one thing. If you initialized a new device from a backup of another one, this makes Simplenote on the new device behave like a clone of the older one. This produces weird, glitchy synchronization. The solution is to make sure your notes are on the server (use the web app), then remove and re-install the app on the new device. This happened to me when I got a new iPad, and it took a while to crack it, working with the folks here.
