Hi. To get started, download the Simplenote app for your computer or device, and create an account using your email address. There’s lots of info in the Simplenote FAQ, https://simplenote.com/help/.
Ufortunately, images cannot be included. Much of the simplicity of Simplenote comes from the fact that it edits and stores only plain text, not attachments of any kind. This allows it to support six different platforms with relative ease.
My big suggestion to a new user is: Use Tags to organize your info. Simplenote uses a flat storage concept that does not support folders. But any note can have one or more tags, and you can view lists of all notes with a certain tag. So I tag notes with various categories, e.g. Sports, Business, Personal, etc. Recent notes are also tagged Current, and the Current list is what I always open. (Tags can only be OneWord, so I use “camel case” when a multi-word tag is needed).
Another thing to be aware is that notes are not “files”, they are “objects”. The note title is a property of the object. It is displayed in lists as an identifier, but it is not a filename. Changing a note title does not create a new note, it just changes to note title. Also, it is possible to create two notes with the same title, but this is very confusing.
