GDPR request to delete all personal data

Where do I send a GDPR request to delete all my personal data? No oficial person answers here, on the forum, and all my mail remains unanswered.

Note: This message is not a joke and should not be considered as such.

You could try writing to Automattic, Inc., 60 29th Street #343, San Francisco, CA 94110, United States of America

I sent email to (email visible only to moderators and staff) . As expected, they have no clue what I am speaking about. This Simplenote thing is a charade.

GDPR is only a British law, no reason why a company located elsewhere would or should be aware of it.

@sebadams61. Actually, it’s a European Union law, not British anymore since Brexit. And the EU has a funny way of making their laws apply beyond their borders. Not our problem, anyway.

  • Hi everyone!

You can remove all of your associated data by deleting your Simplenote account. Because of the permanence and potential impacts of deleting a Simplenote account, we can’t delete an account on behalf of a user.

Since all of your notes will be permanently deleted, before proceeding, we recommend that you export your notes. You can find instructions for doing so in our Help Center:

    https://simplenote.com/help/#export

When you’re ready you may delete your Simplenote account by taking the following steps:

    • Log into the web app: https://app.simplenote.com/
    • In the upper left-hand corner, click the “Menu” button shown by an icon with three horizontal lines.
    • Near the bottom of the menu, click the “Settings” button with the gear icon.
    • Click “Edit Account” then click “Delete Account”.

Once this process is complete, all your notes will be permanently deleted and any personal data associated with your account will be purged.

If you no longer know your password, you can use the lost password form here: https://app.simplenote.com/forgot/ and search your email for “Simplenote” in case the password reset emails go to your spam folder.
