Feature request: Title alone
-
I moved to Simplenote after I lost Notational Velocity when I migrated my data from my old MacBook to my new one.
I would like a Note Format option that gives me a choice for the Notes list in the panel to the left of the contents of the currently selected note. I want to be able to specify whether the left-panel display shows:
- Note title plus the beginning of the note; or
- Note title only.
Reason: Displaying titles alone (and single-spaced) would let me see more titles at a time, and in particular, I believe that for most people, this display mode would show all their pinned note titles. That would facilitate picking one of the most often-used notes, so that users could generally avoid having to use a search. (In Notational Velocity, there were perhaps a dozen notes that I continually referenced.)

Hi. Have you checked for “Concensed Display” in the Simplenote Settings? Note that, in addition to pins, you can use Tags to group useful notes.

Thanks for the tip. After I posted that, I learned that Simplenote does not encrypt the notes and the data are not secure, so I’ve moved to a different app that does offer end-to-end encryption.

Hi @leisureguy, Thanks for letting us know, though I’m sorry to see you go.
I recommend checking out Day One as a secure, encrypted note-taking/journaling app alternative: https://dayoneapp.com/
