Feature Request: Multiple Instances for Different Virtual Desktops

  Dear Simplenote Developers and Community,

  I’m a Simplenote user and really enjoy the simplicity and ease of use it offers for taking quick notes. I use Windows 10 and have a workflow that relies heavily on virtual desktops. One feature that I’m finding I miss in Simplenote is the ability to open multiple instances of the app across different virtual desktops.

  In my current setup, when Simplenote is open in one virtual desktop and I attempt to open it in another, it simply shifts focus to the desktop where Simplenote is already open, instead of creating a new instance in the current desktop. This disrupts my workflow, as I have to switch back and forth between desktops to take notes while doing different tasks.

  I’ve noticed that some applications, like web browsers, have the ability to open new instances across different desktops. I think it would be a fantastic feature to implement in Simplenote as well.

  I understand that there might be technical complexities involved, but I believe this would be a valuable addition for many users, especially those who utilize multiple virtual desktops for their work. I’m hopeful that the team would consider this feature for a future update.
