encryption and false password

Please add encryption to the server, and add a false password so that when it is entered, the account would be deleted

Hi @efoyyqbgyt 👋
Please add encryption to the server
Thanks for your suggestions! It has been recorded and passed along to the team.
If you’re looking for end-to-end encryption, I recommend checking out our Day One app. The Day One app supports offline usage as well as end-to-end encryption for syncing your notes to the cloud.
add a false password so that when it is entered, the account would be deleted
Do you mind telling us more about this suggestion? Would the false password a fixed one or just a random wrong password? How is this different than deleting the account at https://app.simplenote.com/settings?

Simplenote is indeed a great app for taking notes with excellent search function. However, no encryption at rest is a no-no for me because I keep many passwords and private info in my notes.
So as efoyyqbgyt said, a server side encryption would make this app irreplaceable.

@smurfonweed Thank you for your feedback on this. I’ve gone ahead and added your comments to our existing feature request.
I’ll also note, our Day One app does supports end-to-end encryption. You can find more information about the feature in our help guide on the topic.

Are you two @mikerockwell, @staff-zara seriously saying use a journal app when someone is suggesting you to add encryption to a note taking app? A note taking app is very private by nature. Even if one doesn’t store passwords and financial info in them and they should not, the personal notes space in our lives can be very personal and intimate.
How can you two be so callous about it? And it does read callous I am afraid!
