Ctrl-V not working

Same issue here on Firefox.
Console warning:
Error: command 'editor.action.clipboardPasteAction' not foundI think the lesson we can take from this is: Never deploy to prod on Friday XD

This is pretty close to the death knell for me re Simplenote as well. Right now I’m using CTRL+SHIFT V as someone recommended above and that’s working, but I’m copying not cutting to make sure that continues to work. Seems to me since no one from Simplenote bothers to monitor this site they really aren’t serious about fixing bugs.

Also, this problem only occurs in web, Firefox in my case. The application on PC isn’t impacted so that’s where I will be continued using.

Thank you everyone for bringing this up!
We have reported this to our team and we’ll look into this.
We’ll provide any updates as soon as possible.
In the meantime, please use the suggested workaround of using Ctrl + Shift + V.

To those who mentioned looking for simplenote alternatives I have found that Standard Notes is surprisingly similar to simplenote in feature set and you can try the web UI without creating an account. Notesnook and others looked more complex

That’s really frustrating. Does it really takes more than week to rollback to previous version with correct copy/paste?
What do you mean by “team”? Single developer working on 10 projects simultaneously?
Simplenote is really nice, simple and convenient service and I can’t imagine how is it possible to break smth basic like ctrl+c & ctrl+v -
Same problem. Firefox 141.0 and Windows 10. Please fix this – I use copy/paste extensively to add information to Simplenote as well as move information within Simplenote. Thank you.

I don’t wanna be that guy, but we’ve entered week 2 of Simplenote being broken.
This is doing tangible harm what’s left of Simplenote’s reputation. -
Ditto for macOS 15.6 (Sequoia.) paste command stopped working on Safari 18.6 last week. a popup button appears labeled “paste” and clicking that completes the paste. annoying.

Thanks again to everyone who’s reported this issue.
The bug was logged with our developers here: https://github.com/Automattic/simplenote-electron/issues/3329. You can follow along for updates or leave additional details that might help.
We really appreciate your patience while we work on a fix.
-
in the meantime my workaround is to right click to open a menu and ctrl+v works while it’s up, lol

Hi @cheezopath,
Thanks for sharing your workaround — I’ve added your notes to the GitHub issue so our developers have this extra detail while investigating.

Thanks for letting us know, @cagrigsbyaee5b9f394. I’ve added it to our GitHub report as our developers continue to investigate. We haven’t made any changes related to this, so we’re leaning towards this being a deprecation from Mozilla’s end.
In any case, we will keep you all updated as soon as we know more.

Kudos for mwb1100, thank you! This worked excellent. Never knew about those possibilities in that page either. My world has grown in an instant with more freedom :)
What did work was going to the security settings for https://app.simplenote.com/ :
- click the lock to the left of the URL in the address bar
- click on “Connection secure >”
- click on “More information”
- click on “Permissions”
- block “Override keyboard shortcuts”
