Clutter of empty notes

I really love SimpleNote. I started using it, because I got an Android phone, but I also have iPhone and a Mac, and for the longest time I was using Apple Notes.

So, here’s my only issue. When I’m going through my notes, I never actually delete them, I just clear all the test. For example: Command+A and Delete. (video demonstration attached)

And on Apple Notes, notes with no content automatically get deleted. But in SimpleNote they just stay there. And it created this clutter of empty notes.

  • Hi @musaevelshan9896dbd7ee 👋

Thanks for the suggestion! Blank/empty notes are not automatically deleted in the Simplenote app because we’ve seen cases where the blank/empty notes were actually with content that was accidentally deleted with some quick actions. Leaving the notes there in the main section of the app allows users to quickly restore the content with the note revision/history feature.

I hope this clarifies. Let us know if you have more questions or feedback. Thank you!

Yes, please give a clean up button to automatically delete all empty notes. By repeatedly pressing the New Note button (not being in full screen mode, I didn’t see anything happen), I created 20 empty new notes. Enhancement tip: don’t create more than one empty note in a row.

  • Thanks, @siemeik for the enhancement suggestion! I’ve added your vote and your tip to the feature request report.
