Changing my email address if I cannot access my old email address
-
I normally use simplenote from the iPhone app. When I opened the app after a very long time, I got a message about login and security. My registered email address is no longer valid and I want to change it, but I can’t seem to do it from the app; when I try to do it from the web, a confirmation code seems to have been sent to my old email address, but I can’t proceed because the old email address no longer exists. Can you please help me?

To help you with this, we’ll need to discuss some account-specific details, which we cannot do here in the public forums.
I am going to send an email to the address you used to register for this forum account so we can assist you privately. Please keep an eye on your inbox for a message from us.

@jeridawnsmith Are you still logged in to your Simplenote account on any devices?
Or, do you still remember the password for your old account? If so, can you log in using your old email address and password from the web at https://app.simplenote.com/login-with-password/
After you log in or if you’re still logged in, please export your notes: https://simplenote.com/help/#export
Then, create a new Simplenote account with your active email address and import your notes.
Let us know if there are questions throughout this process.

I am still logged in but only in IOS. Can you export notes from IOS to another Simplenote account?

Hi @jeridawnsmith!
In order to export your notes you would need to be signed into your account on app.simplenote.com, Android, one of our desktop apps for Windows, Linux, or Mac.
Are you able to sign into one of those platforms? Do you remember your password for your current account?
If you can, you can then export your notes.

They can then be imported into a new account as well.
