Changed email and now can not access my notes

Last week i changed my email through settings as the old email is no longer in use. I got a change your password email and a confirmation that my email was changed but something must have gone wrong because i now can no longer log in to simplenote to access my notes.
i tried using the “i forgot my password” option but i do not get an email to change or reset my password.
could you please help?
