Change text color for “cancel” and “save” in iOS share pane

Hi, I been using Simplenote for a while now, and the only issue I have is that the blue color used in the iOS share pane is not visible. I think white should be more appropriate considering the gray opaque color used in the pane. Thanks for this great tool!

Hi @jfgarciamex. I’m not seeing this. Do you mean in Dark Mode? Have you made any color adjustments in the Accessibility Settings? Which device and iOS version are you using? Could you post a screenshot? You can add an Image in the [+] menu at the top of the edit window.

Oh, I may have it. Do you mean Cancel and Save in the Share Save to Files action item in Dark Mode, as shown in my pic? If so, I would think that’s totally under the control of iOS, so not much that Simplenote can do about it.

@jfgarciamex @johnswift37 I couldn’t find this “Cancel” and “Save” color issue in the Share > Save to Files pane in dark mode. But I might have missed them.
If you still have the problems, would you mind uploading your screenshot here? There was an issue with uploading images in the Forum, but that should have been fixed. Let us know if you still have a problem with that, too. Thank you!

Hi,
This is still a problem on an iPhone 11, iOS 16.5.1 (not running Dark mode). The blue colour of the Cancel and Save options has little or no contrast with the gray background. This must be hard for the visually impaired to make out, if at all.

I tried to upload a screenshot of the indistinct blue-on-gray clour scheme (used for Cancel or Save) but the upload was timed out.
Why not just change the Cancel and Save colour to white and have done with it?

As my colleague has shared, we have forwarded this to our developers. Our developers consider features for every release based on the number of requests we receive for that feature.

This happens for me too. Here’s a screenshot (assuming the upload works for me)
In a browser (this is Brave but it happens in Firefox too. Haven’t tested others) using the “share” feature, choosing simple note, gives this screen. The “cancel” and “save” buttons are hard to see because the background is transparent.

Don’t get your hopes up … this serious problem for those with impaired vision was flagged up over 18 months ago and still remains uncorrected. The last staff response ‘promising’ a fix was over a year ago but still nothing! It is a legal requirement in most civilised countries and certainly considered good design practise that considerations are made for users with colour-blindness or otherwise impaired vision. I guess SimpleNote is unaware, or perhaps just doesn’t care?

Oof. I hear ya. That’s frustrating. Especially since Automattic takes accessibility pretty seriously — or says they do — on the WordPress/ web side. *sigh*

@robynover Just to double-check, are you experiencing this problem with the Simplenote web app? The initial report highlighted the issue in the Simplenote iOS app. But, you mentioned the issue occurred in your web browser, so I want to make sure we’re on the same page.
Also, if you’re facing difficulty uploading a screenshot here, could you try using a third-party image sharing service like https://imgur.com/ or something similar? Thank you.

No, I am using the iOS app. I mentioned the browser because it happens when I try to save a url to SimpleNote using the browser’s share feature. It does not happen when I share it to, for instance, Apple’s Note app, so I assume it is a problem with the way SimpleNote iOS app integrates with the built in features on iOS.
