Capitalisation in lists

  I’m seeing an annoying feature when constructing lists, in that SimpleNote wants to capitalise every word, like this:

  • A New List Item

  Is there a way I can disable this? It’s annoying having to hit the shift key to get back to lower care for every word!

  (I’m currently running iOS 17.1.2 on an iPhone 12, but it’s been happening for ages)

  Hi @bampots. This is a long-standing issue with 3rd-party keyboards in iOS. Please see my explanation here: https://forums.simplenote.com/forums/topic/gboard-auto-capitalizing/#post-967. It seems like the Apple keyboard ignores the all-caps message from Simplenote, so it “works”, while 3rd-party KBs respect all-caps, so they don’t “work”.

  You may be able to find a workaround that cancels the auto-cap action. In Typefinity, I can move the cursor left/right (arrow keys), when the keyboard is shifted, to make Simplenote forget capitalization.
