Can’t Press “Change my Password” button on “Reset your password” page

I figured maybe it worked so I went to the login page and my new password didn’t work

I have extensions off, and upon Inspecting the button, every HTTP requests get a response status code of 200. Maybe something wrong is going on in the backend

Having the same problem after a notice that someone else used my wordpress to login, changed my wordpress password but can’t change simplenote’s due to the same experience as original poster.

  • Unknown's avatar

I am having the exact same issue as above.

I am having the same issue. Please resolve this. I can’t login at all.

Same issue. Can’t login at all.

Tried to reset my password as well, unable to proceed. The button reacts when I try to reset without entering anything, but does not do anything when I enter a new password. I tried it on Edge and Chrome with the same result. I am unable to login to my account.

Also having the same issue as the original poster. I am using Brave and Safari.

No email arrives on password reset …

  • @houseofstrauss We’ll follow up with you via your email so we can help resolve the issues. Note that we’ll write to you from the email address you used for your account in this Forum (can be the same with your Simplenote account email or not).

Please keep an eye out any emails from the support team in your inbox. Thank you!

Hello Fred, still no reset link in my email … :(

  • Unknown's avatar

@houseofstrauss. Is it possible that your mail server is dropping these emails, preventing you from seeing them? I’ve had a problem like this, where a server decides the DMARC data is invalid, and simply drops the message, instead of marking it as spam.

I assume you are checking your spam folder for these emails, of course.

  • Unknown's avatar

Hi, thanks for your comment. I always check spam and there is nothing in there. Regards the DMARC, I didn’t know, I get all other emails (I use Gmail). What concerns me is that I changed my email address on my wordpress account around the time that simplenote stopped offering the WP login screen. My WP account has accepted my new email, and I have full access, but I wonder if this has propagated to the simplenote system? I have no access to my previous email address.

  • @houseofstrauss Did you receive an email from our support team (not the automated one with a password reset link)?

If you didn’t, there’s a chance your email couldn’t receive any of our messages, whether automated or not, as pointed out by @johnswift37

Also, we want to point out that we couldn’t find a Simplenote account linked to the email address you used on this forum (your WordPress.com account). If you’ve changed your WordPress.com account email address, as you suggested, it might have caused some confusion with your account.

Could you please share an alternative email address here for us to contact you and help resolve the issue? Rest assured, only our staff will see the email. Thank you.

Hello Fred, thanks for getting back to me. The login details for this forum are the same as my wordpress.com account, I did not re-register under a different login. And no, I have not received any reset password to my simple note account under this address. And yes, I have checked spam, of course. It seems like the change of email address has not been transferred over for the reset to happen. If my reset goes to my original email, I wont receive it

My original email address started with richard then my username here .then co.uk. Any reset emails need to go to my new email address that starts with ’email……’, same as the wordpress login and this forum.

    THankyou

  • My original email address started with richard then my username here .then co.uk.

@houseofstrauss We think we’ve found an account linked to this email address.

Any reset emails need to go to my new email address that starts with ’email……’, same as the wordpress login and this forum.

To clarify, we’ve sent a support email (not password reset emails) to the address you use for this Forum, not your old one. Could you please check if you’ve received it?

You might find it helpful to search for an email with the subject line: Simplenote Support: Password Reset Help.

Once you find the email, we can continue our conversation there and work on resolving any issues with your account. Thank you.
