Cant log in (Google Chrome MacOS)

    For over a week now, when I try to log in the url https://app.simplenote.com/login/
    is just displaying a page saying “You must be online to log in.”.

    Environment:
    * MacOS 14.5
    * Google Chrome 125.0.6422.114

    What I have tried:
    * Verify that I am in fact online
    * Cleared cookies and other state (Local storage, Session Storage, IndexedDB)
    * Incognito mode

    None of the above works.

    Logging in using Safari works. But now I am missing many weeks of notes. Same in the iOS app.

    What is going on?

    Updated my Google Chrome to 126.0.6478.62 – now login works.

    However. I have lost all notes since end of May.

  • @paaloliver by chance, have you used Simplenote on another device? Have you used the mobile apps? If yes, can you check if the missing notes might be there?

    Lost notes can usually be found either in the Trash or in the history of an existing note. We recommend checking the trash and revisions. You’ll want to sort the notes by the last modified date from the app settings before you start checking.

    It’s worth restoring notes from the Trash so you can view their history. Pay particular attention to any blank notes you can see or titles you don’t recognize.

    To search the history, open a note and click the clock icon at the top, then move the slider.

    Also, use the search field to check for content that may have been in the note. We don’t recommend just searching for the title, as we’ve seen people have trouble finding notes when accidentally deleting or changing the title text.
