Can’t change email

In settings there is no option to change my email address only log out and delete account. Mac OS v 2.21
Any help with this would be appreciated. Thanks

Hi. I believe you can only do that in the Settings of the Simplenote web app, app.simplenote.com. But be aware, this may result in total loss of access until one of the hosts fixes things for you.
I’d suggest going to the web app, confirming that all your notes are synced, then exporting your data (Tools under Settings). Create a new account with the new email, and import the data. Finally, login to the new account from the Mac app, and confirm that your notes are updated on the Mac. Once you’re happy with the new account, you can delete the old one at your convenience. (I don’t work here, but this is my suggestion based on the number of problems I’ve seen reported in this area.)

Thanks for the advice John.
It seems the if I try and open the web app it automatically opens the desktop app instead. I can’t find a way to disable this behaviour – other than deleting the app – so that’s my difficulty really, not being able to open the web app! Any ideas?

I don’t have a Mac, so don’t know about that. Doesn’t happen on Winders.. You could try a mobile device?

I did fix the issue in the end by downloading the electron version of SimpleNote which allows you to edit the account info on the app. It also allows you to export notes which the previous version could not. Still can’t log into the web app or some reason but I don’t need to now so thanks for your help.

We’re glad you were able to resolve the email address issue using the Electron app.
Just a quick note: The Electron app has the same functionality as the web app, including the ability to export notes. The standard version of the app available in the Mac App Store doesn’t support exporting yet.
