Bug/text glitch everytime i finish typing lengthy stuff

SimpleNote, please fix this in the next update. There appears to be some bug or glitch pertaining the text. It started happening today, never ever happened before. Everytime i finish writing paragraphs in one note, i leave the note, come back and some sentences disappear and there’s this error of words repeating itself. Just as an example, the title of my note : “GROCERY BILLS” becomes “GROCERY GROCERY GROCERY GROCERY”. Same goes with the body text.

Same here. I am also having sync issues, where the spinner in the web app just spins endlessly, and the note on my phone doesn’t update. Started yesterday (August 4). Time to kick the server. Thanks.

Hi there! Thanks for reporting the issue!
The Simplenote servers are having some performance issues. This impacts sync, which is why characters are duplicated in the app. The team is still investigating and working hard to restore the service.

This is absurd. It’s been days now. What is taking so long to fix this problem? The app does one thing, and it’s completely unusable. I have lost all of my work for months. I use Simplenote as my calendar for work and my personal life. I have hundreds of notes, for multiple projects at work. Nothing is synced between the mobile app, web, and desktop. All of the notes I’ve been taking this week have either disappeared, or duplicated random sentences numerous times, or they’re on one app but not on the other and visa versa. It’s completely unreadable. Why has this not been fixed? What is the status update? This is a huge deal for your user base. I’ve lost so much work and time because of this. I’m trying to switch back to Apple Notes so I can salvage whatever hasn’t been lost, but just digging through all of these scrambled notes to copy over has been taking me all morning! It’s a complete mess.

Just writing in to say I am also experiencing this issue, if logs are helpful I can send mine. It’s very disorienting to be writing and then find myself in the middle of a paragraph that contains some, but not all, and partially repeated, of the paragraph I just typed seconds before.

I’m pretty sure the bug I experience is related to these server issues, but it’s now April, so I’m not sure. I’m on the latest Sonoma on a MacBook Pro M1 Max and with every line break a line will disappear, and typically reappear after another line break. It’s making using the app challenging, and always fearful it’s permanently removing text.
The MacBook Air we have also running Sonoma does not exhibit this issue.

@agmgiguvz8. The server problems are long gone now, so that is not your problem. Are you using the Simplenote app from the AppStore, or the web app in a browser?
