auto- scrolling down to last line of the note

Simplenote app ver 2.30 on Android ver 13 on Samsung Galaxy S20 5G
When editing long note, once the keyboard appear, the text display will default to last line of note when pausing on typing.
For example, I have a note that has 100 lines showing on the Galaxy S20 phone screen.
I want to edit text on line #3, so I put the cursor is on line 3 and start typing.
When I pause typing my text on line #3, the display text is auto- scrolling down to last line of the note.
So I can not read what I just type on line #3, unless I have to scroll back from from the last line #100 up to line #3.Is this a known bug issue that Simplenote are working on solving?

Hmmm. That’s very odd. You could try looking in the system Keyboard Settings for something that might cause this.

I recommend turning off any auto-complete or text prediction on your Samsung. We have seen other reports of issues with Samsung Galaxy devices like this which are caused by the way the device’s keyboard settings are interacting with our app. I have reported this to our team for further investigation, but we don’t have a solution currently

I have the same issue. When adding information in simplenote in between other text, it automatically scrolls to the bottom of the page.

@lsgordon19. As suggested above, try turning off Predictive Text in the Keyboard settings on your device.

I’m glad I found this – for my own sanity, I need to stop composing text on phones.
My phone is Samsung too, so it has been addressed here, but I hope you might find a way to return off or nullify that behavior. I’ve been pretty satisfied overall, but I honestly will be forced to switch away if this turns out to happen on laptop (or isn’t an option one could turn off.

It doesn’t happen in Windows or iOS. I believe this is a problem specific to a Samsung enhancement (One UI?) to Android. You can disable predictive text for Simplenote only, as described here, https://forums.simplenote.com/forums/topic/becoming-unusable-on-android-phone-jumping-to-bottom-of-note-bug/page/2/#post-2839.

Our developers merged a fix for this issue, which would have been included in version 2.26. If anyone is still experiencing the issue, though, please let us know and we’ll be happy to forward the details along to our developers to investigate.

@mikerockwell – I appreciate you checking into this issue. I’m on a Samsung phone, my Simplenote app is 2.35, and this problem plagued me for about a year (it was an issue on earlier phone on which I had this app loaded. The workaround @johnswift37 posted worked beautifully, but I’m here to tell you that the big was still my nightmare until following the direction in his link. I can share phone details if it helps troubleshoot, but We’re Not Going Back! <grin>

Have you tried updating to Simplenote 2.36 (2.26 is probably a typo)? It may have a permanent fix.
