Application for older Mac OS? (10.15 Catalina)

I’ve not used Simplenote for a while, but have regained my usecase for it. The app in the mac app store only is for OS 12 and above.. my Mac is stuck at 10.15.
Is there a version that works with it, or are any of the old 3rd party apps still around?

Hmm dove thru the github and v2.21.0 works fine.
v2.22.1 I guess dropped support or has a flag set differently.

Hi there! I suggest you try using the Electron version of the app, available at https://github.com/Automattic/simplenote-electron/releases/tag/v2.22.1.

How about an even older MacOS? I’m running 10.10.5 on an ancient MBP I keep around for graphic design apps.

Hi. I don’t know about stand-alone apps, but you could use the Simplenote web app at app.simplenote.com. It directly accesses the cloud servers, so you have to be online to use it, but changes you make will sync with your other devices.

I echo @johnswift37’s suggestion here. If you’re on an older Mac, I would highly recommend using the web app at https://app.simplenote.com/ over trying to use older versions of the Mac app.

Thanks, FTR, I’m now on a modern M4 Mini, so all up to date. I had wound up using an older app, that if I recall, updated fine to the current version, bypassing whatever problem I was having.
