  my app only has room for a 4 character password. The website only accepts 8 character passwords. I cannot there for open the app with my changed 8 character password

  Hi, @rmfeld! It looks like the 4-digit password you’re referring to might be the app-locking passcode. That would be different from the 8-character password on your account. The 4-digit passcode should go away if you reinstall the app.

  However, before reinstalling the app, please log in to the Simplenote web app from within a web browser at https://app.simplenote.com/ and check your notes from there to see if they are all correct and up to date.
