Android widget not working on latest version

  My device is Android 13

  Single widget works fine all the time until recently it keep showing ‘loading’.

  The widget will only display content until I manually launcher the simple note app.

  I have been use simple apple for a long time thank you team for working on it.

  Can you try removing the widget and re-adding it, then letting us know if the “loading” issue repeats? Usually this solves things, so my hope is it helps you too.

  I have the same issue on android 15. Widget shows loading without any success. Removing and re-adding didn’t help.

  We have an update (v2.36) scheduled for release next week. After updating, please let us know if you continue to run into the issue with the widget not loading.

  oh no… the issue is still there…again …widget Shows…loading, and you can’t open it …

  Hi @caropud,

  Thanks for your update! One workaround you can try is to temporarily launch the Simplenote app. This often allows the widget to finish loading your notes. Once the notes are loaded, the widget should display them normally.

  Hi again. Starting the app triggers the widget…but this doesn’t make sense. If i need to trigger the app, the widget is useless 😒

  Hi there, @caropud

  I can confirm that we have a bug report open for this at https://github.com/Automattic/simplenote-android/issues/1620

  Our team will look into fixing it in the future. In the meantime, the workaround is to open the app after restarting your device so that the widget can load. I can understand that this is not ideal, but that is the only workaround for now.
