Android app keeps crashing Google Play Protect service

  Every couple of minutes or so, while I’m editing a note in the Android app, I’ll get a message saying ‘Google Play Protect service has stopped’. Eventually it will be ‘Google Play Protect service keeps stopping’. Occasionally it will be Google Play services that crashes, and sometimes it will be the Simplenote app itself. There are no noticeable effects other than an annoying pop-up on screen. It’s been happening for a few days.

  I’m using the Android 17 beta on a Pixel 10 Pro.

  We generally can’t guarantee support for how our app will work on a beta OS, as this could be due to a bug in the actual Android beta.
