  💡 Feature Idea: “Block Editing” / Read-Only Notes

  It would be great if Simplenote had an option to lock a note for editing — turning it into a read-only state.

  This feature could help:

  • Prevent accidental edits or deletions.
  • Keep important reference notes safe.
  • Let users share notes publicly without worrying about unwanted changes.

  Suggested behavior:

  • Add a “🔒 Lock Note” option in the note menu.
  • When locked, the note’s text area becomes non-editable (greyed out or with a banner: “This note is locked”).
  • Unlocking requires a simple action (e.g., tap “Unlock” or enter a PIN).

  This small addition would make Simplenote safer for storing final drafts, quotes, or critical information.
