Accessing note when no longer able to access account emails

  We recently got a question I wanted to share here in case it helps others:

  okay i have been having trouble on how to proceed in regards to two accounts with you guys that were under two different email addresses. in a normal circumstance to reset the password I would reset the password and then you guys send me a email with the link to do that

  I no longer have access to those accounts so I want all my previous writings for those two accounts with simple note. what I’m asking is how do I reset the password for both those accounts without having access to those accounts

  Because your email is the only information we have from you about your account, if you can no longer access the email then we aren’t able to help you further recover the account.

  If you still have the password, you can of course login and update the email address on the account to one you can access, but if that doesn’t work then there isn’t a way forward to recover the account. For account security we can only assist with account access over email, with the email on the account. If that email isn’t accessible then that won’t be possible. I hope you understand this is part of how we protect Simplenote account security.
