2 Bugs: Mac: Text editing: multiline indentation fails + Wrong cursor position

Using v2.19 on Mac Sonoma 14.0. Since starting to use the Simplenote Mac client a few months ago I’ve always experienced these issues.

    Multi-line indentation fails

Note that many lines are selected, but pressing “tab” only indents the first line. Simpenote does not behave this way on web or Linux clients. I expect it to work like other clients.

    Wrong cursor position

Frequently the cursor position gets out of sync with reality, so that when you type, text appears somewhere other than where the blinking cursor indicates it should. In this example, the error occurs when a newline is created. When I type “???” in the video, the error has just occurred.

I believe this happens at other times too, and sometimes whole lines are obscured or truncated visually.

Both these bugs are significant and are pushing me to consider alternative apps. I’ve been living with the issues for months and they’re affecting my daily productivity. Thanks for reading.

I included 2 gif videos which rendered perfectly in the editor here, but after posting, they are not shown in the published post now.

Here are links to the videos:

FYI I’m not allowed to edit the original post for some reason. Disappointing.

Any updates on this? Running into the same issue. Considering switching out of SimpleNote due to how frustrating it can be!

    Hello! Thanks for your report!

These are both known issues affecting users on MacOS. Thanks for your patience. We do not have an ETA for a fix at this time but I have added your report(s) on both issues.
